3+2 cores & 4+1 cores
A cable can be a single core cable or a multi-core cable. And for a multi-core cable, there are 3+2 cores cable and 4+1 cores cable, they are both 5-core cables, so what is their difference?
A 5-core cable means there are 5 mutual insulated cores inside one cable, it may be 3+2 or 4+1. Here we take YJV power cable as an example.
YJV 3+2 cores Cable

The 3 of the “3+2” are three phase lines L1, L2, L3, their diameter are the biggest and same.
The 2 of the “3+2” are null line and PE line, one is for connecting null line, which diameter is smaller; the other one is for connecting ground line, which diameter is also smaller.
YJV 4+1 cores Cable

The 4 of the “4+1” are three phase lines and null line, they have same bigger diameter.
The 1 of the “4+1” is the PE line for connecting ground line, which diameter is smaller.
How to make 3+2 cable & 4+1 cable?
We can use Planetary type cable Laying-up machine to strand insualted cores: 1+4 model laying-up machine can me 4+1 cores cable, and 1+1+3 model laying-up machine can make 3+2 cores cable.
